WhatsApp has been working on Translation Project, making the app available for most of the languages.
It has launched a page where you can enter your name and email to get started on helping the app to make your local language available to it.
Facebook has purchased the app a month ago at a hefty amount of $19 billion. But app organizers seemed to be very smart to complete a big project without involving any cost.
“We’re looking for translators in: Arabic, Danish, Dutch, Farsi, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Urdu, and many more languages.”
Then you have to select the language and operating system you have been using.
But the simple question is, whether it is right to earn billions of dollars and paying nothing to translators who have been contributing their skills, expertise and time?
