Half kilogram explosives detonated on Pervez Musharraf’s route

ISLAMABAD – Just a few minutes later when former President General (rtd) Pervez Musharraf passed by Faizabad Junction, a half kilogram of explosive devise planted in the drainage pipe detonated.

According to the televised details of the incident, Musharraf wanted to move back to his farm house in Chak Shahzad area of Islamabad upon which his convoy was scheduled to pass by Faizabad flyover.

Police sources confirmed that at least after 15 minutes when Musharraf’s convoy passed the location, explosion took place.

Police also maintained that they were not formally informed about the movement.

Musharraf has been shifted from Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) to Chak Shahzad after three months. He was taken to hospital on January 2 as he developed a cardiac problem enroute to appear before the special court hearing treason case against him.
