Defiance against PTI, 14 lawmakers form forward bloc in KPK assembly

PTI InsafiyansPESHAWAR – The ever increasing troubles for first timers in power corridors seems not to end soon as now as many as fourteen lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had openly announced to defy their own party in Khyber Pakhtukhwa (KPK) assembly.

The focal person of the separate bloc, Qurban Ali Khan, blamed that incapable people had been inducted into the cabinet who have the accusation of irregularities on them. Although he never took any name.

He further said that at present there are 14 lawmakers with them and soon others would join too. He also did not disclose names of those lawmakers who were supporting the forward bloc. Perhaps due to the fear of any action against them.

Ali criticized the policies of KPK government and claimed that Imran Khan had been kept in dark regarding the wrongdoings of some leaders.

Qurban Ali Khan, who had left the PPP before last year’s general elections, was elected to the assembly on a PTI ticket from PK-16 Nowshera.

The recent induction into the cabinet of new members, particularly legislators from Hazara division who had joined the party after the elections, and the award of important portfolios to coalition partners had created a rift within the party.

Shahram Khan Tarki of the Awami Jamhuri Itehad Pakistan (AJIP) was given the portfolio of health and Qalandar Khan Lodhi and Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, who had joined the PTI after elections, were initially appointed adviser and special assistant to the chief minister and now made ministers.

PTI had made no official statement on this forward bloc as yet. But on March 20, PakistanTribe reported Imran Khan as saying “We are also investigating a forward bloc formation by at least three MPAs of PTI in KPK assembly. I am telling you that they would be expelled from the party but we will never surrender to the blackmailing.”

However, this is not what Ahmad Jawad – a die-hard Insafiyan who recently resigned from PTI – believed in. According to Ahmad Jawad, PTI leaders are making money out of polio campaign in KPK and Imran Khan is well aware of this scenario.

Moreover, Awami National Party (ANP) leader and Senator Zahid Khan had also claimed that at least ten PTI ministers are involved in corruption.

Interestingly, one official communique issued by PTI central media cell after party’s core committee’s meeting also stated that financiers of Sehat ka Insaf personally requested Imran Khan to take charge of the healthcare campaign.
