212th child died in Thar as PPP-PML-N lock horns over relief

Thar-drought

WEB DESK – Amid the point scoring struggle over giving relief in Thar between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s federal government and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)’s provincial government, the 212th girl child in Mithi civil hospital ceased to live waiting better treatment facilities.

According to the disturbing details from national political arena, PPP and PML-N seemingly engaged in point scoring over providing relief to drought hit people of Thar.

Federal government wanted to provide the cash support to the people. For that, it distributed the ATM cards among the deserving people. However, Sindh government was of the view that relief should be provided to them for the purpose of distribution.

Now people in Thar are still waiting for the ATM machines to get in order so that they can withdraw money from them. According to one source (as quoted by the country’s largest media group) the Sindh government itself installed out of order ATM machines so that Thar people cannot withdraw relief given by federal government.

Moreover, the patients’ rush in the hospital still continues, as over 40 children seriously ill are presently under treatment.
