Nawaz Sharif directs PTA to ensure transparency in spectrum auction process | PakistanTribeISLAMABAD – Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to ensure transparency in spectrum auction process, PakistanTribe.com reported on Friday.

According to the detail Pakistani PM issued these directions while chairing a meeting to review grey traffic monitoring and status of telecom spectrum auction here in Islamabad.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman, Secretary Information Technology Division and Chairman PTA.

Minister for State for IT and Telecom, Anusha Rehman along with Akhlaq Tarrar, Secretary IT, Azmat Ranjha, Additional Secretary IT being briefed by Dr. Ismail Shah, Chairman (PTA), regarding grey trafficking in Islamabad on November 22, 2013.

Anusha Rehman briefed the Prime Minister regarding monitoring mechanism to check grey traffic and the latest status of spectrum auction being processed by PTA.

The Prime Minister directed that the process of spectrum auction should be completely transparent. He further directed that strict action should be taken against those involved in the practice of grey traffic.
