Govt has left people at the mercy of criminals: Altaf Hussain

WEB DESK – The chief of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, has said that it seemed as if government and administration have left people at the mercy of criminal elements.

Altaf was addressing a telephonic meeting of his followers in Karachi from his London residence on Friday.

Altaf Hussain aka Altaf Bhai said that bank robberies, extortion and terrorism activities have been increased and government seemed not to be interested in doing anything about it.

He went ahead saying, “Now people should come in action to protect themselves from criminal elements.”

According to media database, at least 12 banks have been robbed in Karachi since January 2014.

PakistanTribe reported on March 24 that Dr Farooq Sattar, leader of MQM, had linked peace in Karachi with MQM-PPP alliance. However, the prospects of any such alliance in Sindh seemed to be under doubts as controversial statements were being made by the leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

On March 27, Bilawal Bhutto also raised some objections over alliance with MQM citing controversial statements made by Altaf Hussain regarding martial law and division of Sindh in the past.
