Sattar’s Mantra: Peace in Karachi through MQM-PPP alliance

Farooq Sattar

WEB DESK – The leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Dr Farooq Sattar, links would-be-soon alliance with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) crucial for making Karachi a safe metropolis as currently one-third of the city is ruled by terrorists.

Sattar, while speaking to media personnel in Karachi, said that to make this metropolis safe, it was needed that both parties join hands with each other.

While commenting on the statements made by his supremo, Altaf Hussain, Sattar said that he had warned the nation against these clear and present dangers. But no one took it seriously. Now everybody can see that it was not a false alarm.

He reiterated that criminal elements in Karachi should be curbed and dealt with accordingly.

However, It was also evident that citing vendetta against party workers, MQM has had made serious allegations of biased nature of targeted operation in Karachi carried out by the Sindh Rangers and police.

Until recently, there were confusing information all over regarding MQM-PPP alliance in the province of Sindh. On one hand, Asif Ali Zardari had reportedly ordered his party leaders to go forth and start the final phase of negotiations with MQM. While on other hand the senior leader of PPP, Syed Khurshid Shah, had denied any possibility of MQM to join Sindh government’s cabinet.

It was also reported that MQM’s Rabta Committee had already sent the names of proposed provincial ministers to London for the final approval.
