KARACHI – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have appealed the people of the city to participate in the Public March in large numbers, which is to be taken out from Mazar-e-Quaid to Tibet Center on Nov, 24 (Sunday).
This appeal was made by JI and PTI provincial leaderships in a joint press conference at Idara-e-Noor Haq here on Thursday.
Speaking at the press conference, JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem assured the PTI leadership that the senior leadership of JI will participate in the sit-in of PTI on Nov, 23 and stand shoulder to shoulder with them against continued NATO supply and drone strikes.
PTI Sindh President Nadir Akmal Khan Leghari, MPA Hafeezuddin Advocate, Saif-ur-Rehman and others were also present on the occasion.
JI General Secretary Karachi Abdul Wahab, Naib Ameers JI Karachi Muslim Pervez, Muzaffar Hashmi, JI Information Secretary Karachi Zahid Askari and others were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the press conference, Hafiz Naeem said that they want religious harmony among all sects and both the parties i.e. JI and PTI are playing their due role in order to create religious fraternity in the country”, he added.
Hafiz Naeem said that the unity of the nation is need of the hour, as the anti-state powers are hatching conspiracies to destabilize the state by igniting sectarian violence in the country.
“Jamaat-e-Islami is with the PML-N government, if it will take strong stance against continued drone attacks, however; the JI will launch protest demonstrations against the government if it will not oppose the drone strikes”, he added.
JI Karachi Chief reiterated his party demand to pull out the nation from the “war on terror”, as this war belongs to United States of America not to Pakistan.
Earlier, Nadir Akmal Leghari said that that PTI has clear stance on drone attacks since day first of its establishment. “We want peace and prosperity in the country”, Leghari added.
“Innocent people including three minors have been killed in drone attacks in Hangu”, he added.
On the occasion, PTI Sindh President said that the party leadership has decided to stage a sit-in protest in Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa on Nov, 23.
He further assured the JI Karachi Chapter leadership that the PTI provincial leadership will participate in the Public March of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Nov, 24.
