ISLAMABAD – The government of Punjab has yet again sought four months’ time to hold local bodies elections as Advocate General of Punjab Mustafa Ramdey submitted a schedule in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Mustafa Ramdey maintained in the Supreme Court on Wednesday that provincial government needs time in order to formulate procedure regarding delimitation of the province.
Mustafa told the judiciary that “It will take at least four months to prepare a legal draft regarding local bodies election and getting it approved. Local bodies elections will be completed in ten steps.”
Punjab is the most populated province of Pakistan with estimated population of 90 million.
