PTI defends Sehat ka Insaf in KPK despite allegations

ISLAMABAD – Despite the allegations leveled by at least one of their own former member and opposition party, the core committee
of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed satisfaction over its provincial government’s healthcare programme Sehat ka Insaf.

According to an official communique issued by PTI’s central media cell, Imran Khan presided the core committee’s session which analysed the different aspects of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KPK)’s healthcare programme.

Communique stated that “Microsoft founder Bill Gates generously donates funds worldwide for the eradication of polio. The cost of the programme is Rs124 million and it is being looked after and monitored by Unicef and the WHO, be it related to awareness campaign or other extra operational expenditures. Moreover, provincial health and police departments have singed MoUs for their collaboration in the programme. And above all Unicef does its own audit of the money involved in the programme.”

However, the same statement also maintained that the Melinda and the Bill Gates Foundation especially approached Imran Khan and requested him to take personal charge of the anti-polio drive in KPK (reasons not mentioned).
