Another electricity-bomb dropped on Pakistanis as NEPRA raises power tariff by .73 per unit | PakistanTribeLAHORE – After dropping a bombshell on the consumers of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased power tariffs by 73 paisa per unit nationwide on Thursday.

NEPRA approved the increase of power tariffs after an application was submitted by the Central Power Purchasing Agency.

The voice chairman NEPRA Muhammad Naeem permitted increase in the electricity prices after hearing the plea of Central Power Purchasing Agency. The increase has been made due to the fuel adjustments for the month of October.

The increase would be applicable for whole excluding KESC and Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO).

A source at NEPRA stated that the power rates are increased due to a rise in crude oil prices in the world market.

The Electric Production Company had increased power tariffs by 32 paisas per unit in the month of September due to fuel adjustments.
