Nawaz Sharif and Chaudhry Nisar are not supervising peace talks with Taliban

WEB DESK – The federal information minister has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan are not supervising the negotiation process as per reported by some media outlets.

Pervaiz Rasheed, information minister, was speaking to media representatives in Lahore when he maintained that there was no ‘super committee’ comprising the prime minister, the interior minister and an adviser to the prime minister for supervising talks with Taliban as reported by a section of the media.

Rasheed explained tot he media that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was the focal person for the dialogue process, whereas, being the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was regularly briefed on the progress. He also informed that many such briefings were also attended by the defence minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
