Samsung Galaxy Nexus is an Android Smartphone developed by Samsung electronics and Google. It is the 3rd Android Smartphone in the Google Nexus series.

The Galaxy Nexus has a super amoled high definition display with a Dragon Trail curved glass surface, and it was the first Android Version 4.0 ice-cream sandwich device. The device is known as Galaxy X in Brazil, due to the trademark of Nexus brand. It was released In Europe on 17 November 2011.

Hardware.

The galaxy Nexus gives output 1080p audio-visual content through HDMI to any supported external display like HD Television. Galaxy Nexus has no buttons on the front screen, but instead features on screen soft keys embedded into the system software.

Software.

Galaxy Nexus was the first device which runs on the 4.0 android ice cream sandwich version, introducing a large number of latest features and improvements. In the beginning from 11 July 2012 4.1 jelly bean android began rolling out the GSM Galaxy Nexus as an OTA (Out-the-air) update. Android 4.2 jelly beans rolling out on 13 November 2012 to the GSM Galaxy Nexus as an OTA update. Google started rolling out the update to the international version a week later. Towards the end of December, however, not all phones had received the update.

4.3 Android jelly bean was released on 24 July 2013, and run began OTA Updates on 31 October 2013.Google has stated that the galaxy Nexus ii will not receive android kitkat 4.4 even after having 14000+  signatures requesting it.

Canonical and Ubuntu operating system also supported on the galaxy Nexus II.
