QUETTA – At least five persons were killed in and over 25 others injured in result of remote controlled bomb blast in Satlite Town area of Quetta. Two police personnel also include in the killed persons.
FC vehicle was targeted in the attack. The condition of six injured persons is critical. The injured persons also include three FC personnel.
According to local police, a powerful blast occurred near Sarki Road that killed five people including two cops and a child while 25 others were injured. Hospital sources said six of those injured were in critical condition.
Several cars and motorcycles were damaged in the blast while a Frontier Corps vehicle was completely destroyed. Nearby buildings were also damaged due to the impact.
The bomb disposal squad said that an IED time device was attached to a motorcycle that went off with a blast.
Law enforcement agencies reached the site immediately after the blast. SSP Operation Muhammad Jaffar said approximately 7-8 kilograms of explosives having ball bearing and bolts were used in the blast.
According to sources, gun shots were also heard after the blast. The dead bodies were shifted to the Civil and other hospitals for medico-legal formalities. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
It may be mentioned that two persons lost their lives and nine others sustained injuries in a blast that occurred on Wednesday night in Quetta.
Meanwhile at least four women were critically wounded in a mine explosion in Dera Bugti district of Balochistan. The injured were shifted to Sui Hospital.
On the other hand an explosion in Balochistan’s Pak-Afghan border town of Chaman injured two persons.
Rescue and security teams reached the blast site situated near Eidgah Chowk in the city. Several cars were damaged in the explosion.
The victims were shifted to the Civil Hospital in the city for medical treatment. An emergency was imposed in the facility.
