PM Nawaz Sharif to visit drought-hit Thar today | PakistanTribeISLAMABAD – Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is ready to visit drought hit Thar area of the Sindh province today, PakistanTribe.com reported.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had cancelled important engagements and would visit Tharparkar today to meet drought-affected people.

“Thar is a part of the country and the federal government considers it an utmost duty to ensure relief and rescue of people of the area. That is why the prime minister would be in Mithi on Monday”, he said talking to media here.

Rasheed said National Disaster Management Authority and Pakistan Army were already providing assistance to the affected people after the prime minister issued directive for an emergency relief operation for the people of Thar.

“The prime minister jumped into action as soon as he became aware of the catastrophic drought in Thar”, said he.

To a question, the minister said the Federal Government would assist the Government of Sindh and would not do politics on the issue.

Though situation in Thar isn’t a news for the local people but the level of negligence shown by the provincial administration of the Peoples Party lead Sindh Government turn it worst and gain huge sympathies of the people of other provinces.

Pakistanis especially social media users have criticized PPP and it’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardfari on the situation and many name him a “tweet boy” who is busy in Sindh festival while the people of Sindh facing humen created disaster.
