Two dams and one mega water project approved

Gomal zam dam and kurram tangi dam approvedISLAMABAD – The elitest forum of the countrym ECNEC or Executive Committee of the National Economic Council approves two dams and one mega project for water.

The meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, has approved an amount of Rs. 63 billion for these projects giving a boost to national power and water structure.

The projects include a dam, Kurram Tangi Multipurpose Dam, at North Waziristan agency. The first stage of the project costs Rs. 12.662 billion.

The forum also resvised the cost of Sindh Water Sector Improvement project with first phase now to be completed in Rs. 30.335 billion.

The another dam, South Waziristan located Gomal Zam’s PC-1 was revised to Rs. 20.626 billion.

It will be intersting for many Pakistanis to know that South and North Waziristan have many ‘Mega’ things other than Taliban and militants.
