Taliban vs Pakistan govt direct talks likely in round two

TTP vs Pakistan govt talksISLAMABAD – After the recent attack on the capital, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is reportedly under immense pressure from military. 

“He is also considering Taliban’s suggestion for direct talks between the government and the militants removing the present committeesm” Daily Dunya reports.

Military leadership is also concerned with demands of Pakistan Taliban asking for the release of Dr. Usman, mastermind of many attacks in the country, and Muslim Khan, former close aide of TTP chief Mullah Fazalullah.

According to the report, Taliban has suggested for holding talks between governmental committee comprising military and civilian leadership and Taliban itself.

For this purpose, presently working committees will be disbanded, it further quoted.

“Nawaz Sharif is under severe pressure, which is also evident from the fact that he sent Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar to talk with army chief General Raheel Sharif.”

“There is a rift between the establishment of the country and PM putting extra pressure ono him.”
