Seoul: Samsung New Chromebook 2 appears like leather look, with stitching around the edge on the back of the lid. This is also a style that Samsung has applied to its Note and Galaxy S5 smartphones, and appears to be gaining popularity with the Korean company.
Samsung can increase its market share in the mobile processor segment. It has been indicated earlier in the week that Samsung’s next Chromebook would feature Exynos hardware in addition to a variant that comes with Intel’s hardware. Retailer listings for the device listed availability in sizes of 11.6 and 13.3 inches. The 11.6-inch version was said to feature an Exynos 5 SoC, 4 GB of RAM and a 16 GB SSD, while the 13.3-inch model will likely feature Intel hardware. The New Chromebook 2 device were priced at $299 and $399, respectively.
There is not much information leaked about the new Samsung Chromebook and not much to glean from the leaked photo, but at least one USB port and one 3.5 mm stereo jack, presumably for audio out.
Meanwhile, two models dubbed as “Samsung Chromebook 2” were listed on the B&H Photo Web site. One is an 11.6-inch Chromebook with Exynos SoC while the other is a 13.3-inch variant with no mention of its processor.
Samsung Chromebook is definitely due for an upgrade and seems like we won’t have to wait too long for it.
Samsung was approached for comment on this image, but thus far, they have declined to officially provide any further information on this Chromebook, including features, launch date and pricing.
