PESHAWAR – Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokersperson Shaukat Ali Yousazahi has resigned from the official post, PakistanTribe.com reported.
Govt sources confirmed the development when saying Shaukat Yousafzai sent his resignation to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
I am contesting in by-polls scheduled to be held in Shangla District of KP, said Yousagzai when informing CM about his decision.
To keep by-polls transparent I am leaving the assigned role, Yousagzai wrote in his resignation.
Earlier, Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to conduct by-polls in the KP assembly constituency on the complaints of low female voter turnout.
Yousafzai approached to courts against ECP decision but failed to stop by-polls in the constituency.
In july general elections, Yousafzai had won from PK-23, Shangla where female voter turnout was less than 10 per cent.
