LAHORE – Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other senior leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down.
ARY News has reported via its sources close to Prime Minister that the narrative of resignation within the party is now gaining strength.
It is understood that the sooner the resignation comes, the lesser would be the damage to the party. But, as per sources, Nawaz Sharif has still not made his mind to leave the seat as he understands that none of his family members can be given his place and he does not want the premiership to go out of the family.
It is also learned that PM Nawaz is considering his spouse, Kulsoom Nawaz for the post.
Earlier, former Governor Punjab and a top PML-N leader Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa on Wednesday expressed severe disappointment over what came out of JIT report.
“Opposition parties were leveling serious allegations on PM and his family but now that this (JIT) report has been submitted to the court, they are speaking,” said Khosa, adding that everyone who is with the Sharifs is worried about his own survival.
