KARACHI – KARACHI – Presiding Officers have released unofficial results of all the polling stations of the PS-114 constituency.
According to unconfirmed and unofficial results, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Saeed Ghani has won the elections with 23840 votes.
It was a neck-to-neck contest between PPP and MQM-P, but, PPP had a slight advantage of sitting government, thus they won. MQM’s Tessori bagged secured 18,106 votes.
Ruling party in the Federation has made a surprise entry in the contest PML-N’s candidate was third in the race with 5353 votes leaving behind PTI.
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate remained fourth in the contest with 5098 votes. Jamat e Islami candidate was fifth in the list with only 1661 votes.
The vote count begun after 5:00pm as polling concluded.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will later announce the official result of the voting in all 92 polling stations of the constituency.
Tight security arrangements were made for smooth conduct of polling; however, clashes between political workers were witnessed in the constituency.
All political parties blamed each other for rigging.
DG Rangers Major General Mohammad Saeed visited various polling stations and expressed satisfaction over the polling process in a peacefull manner.
Talking to media after visiting, he said that people have come out to cast their votes without any fear. He said security personnel will remain there till the end of polling process.
