YouTube blockage ending soon as ‘elite’ in action

Pakistan senate on YouTube reopeningISLAMABAD – The Senate Standing Committee decided to pass a resolution against YouTube blockage in the country.

A meeting held in Islamabad headed by ” Senator Khattak” related to You Tube blockage matters and issues.

During the meeting, Chairman PTA told members that ” 848 Web sites on the Internet search engine Google has warning.”

After that Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said that “users having no access to YouTube is a violation of human rights”

Committee looked over the matter seriously and decided to bring resolution in Senate for the reopening of You Tube.

It should be mentioned here that Pakistani Government banned You Tube on 17 September 2012 due to presence of Insulting matter on it .

This ban was just lifted for Two Hours on 29 December 2012. Since then ban is still on the site.
