OVAL – Hold your hearts and take deep breaths… people with faint hearts better stay away from screens as the biggest match of ICC Champions Trophy 2017, the grand final of the mega event, that too between Pakistan and India to make it even huge is to be played tomorrow (Sunday), at the Oval, London.
According to the schedule, the match will begin at 10:30 local time (09:30 GMT | 14:30 PKT).
India is currently the number 2 team in the ODI ranking after England failed to make it to the final, on the other hand, Pakistan on number 7 in the list, there seems to be no parallel between the two sides.
They entered the tournament at No. 8, but their impressive turnaround in the performance has earned them some good if they win it… They will be number six in the ICC ODI Ranking, but rankings don’t mean anything in a clash like this, they proved that so many times in this tournament.
India being almost the same side that lifted the Trophy back in 2013 and Pakistan is an entirely young side, going through a phase of making, the man in blue seem to have an upper hand in the game.
But, Pakistan, not to be under-estimated, have a bowling line-up that has destroyed South Africa and England in this event, India would be wary of them, they just can’t sit back on their previous win against Pakistan and relax.
Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed seemed relaxed and confident before the mega clash when he came out for a pre-match press conference today at the Oval. He was confident to respond Amir Sohail’s criticism on the team and said ‘nothing bothers team’.
He also gave good news about Mohammad Amir’s fitness and said he would be part of the team. He told the press that his team is ready and hungry to perform against India.
