When is Eid 2017 moon sighting in Pakistan? Date announced

PESHAWAR – Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (moon sighting committee) will meet on Sunday, June 25, 2017, for sighting the moon of Shawwal 1438 AH.

According to Ministry of Religious Affairs, the meeting will be held at Administrator (Auqaf) office in Peshawar.

The meetings of Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held at their respective headquarters at the same time.

Earlier, Pakistan Met Department (PMD) on Thursday forecast that there is a good chance of new Eid moon on the evening of June 25.

“There is a fair chance of a sighting of new Shawwal moon, 1438 AH on June 25th,” Met stated.

The new moon of Shawwal, 1438 AH will be born on crossing conjunction point at 07-31 PST on 24-06-2017.

The crescent would be visible on the evening on June 25, a statement of Met office said.

According to climate record, the weather is expected fair/partly cloudy in most parts of the country. – APP
