KARACHI – Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem has achieved the top spot in the World Boxing Council (WBC) ratings for the Flyweight category on Saturday and qualified for the World Title fight.
Waseem is now scheduled to take on Japanese Daigo Higa in September this year.
The Quetta-born boxer will start practicing as well as participate in more fights after Eid to prepare for the big occasion.
“Waseem is a hard-working and brave athlete and there’s no opponent who can intimidate him,” Waseem’s Korean promoter Andy Kim quoted by ARYSports.
Waseem is currently the WBC Flyweight Silver Champion and has gone undisputed in all his five fights until now.
