OVAL – Courtesy to Hashim Amla’s hundred South Africa have set a 300-runs target for Sri Lanka in the third game of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 at the Kennington, Oval.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first.
South African openers took a cautious start before stretching their muscles and playing their shots all around the ground. De Cock fell earlier for 23 but Hashim Amla (103 ) and du Plessis (75 ) kept scoring runs.
At one stage, S Africa were 189/2 in 33.4 overs, well poised to reach anything above 330.
Sri Lankan bowlers, however bowled well in the last fifteen overs to lower down South African’s run rate and managed to restrict them to 299/6.
