Bird flu kills 20,000 chickens in China

SHAANXI – The outbreak of H7N9 Bird flu has killed more than 20,000 chickens in northwest China’s Shaanxi province, officials revealed on Wednesday citing a local government report.

The outbreak started from an egg farm run by Lvxiangyuan Ecology Co based in Yulin, the city has population of more than 3 million people.

The authorities have sealed three-kilometers-radius area which is mainly affected by the flu, said the report of Xinhua.

The spokesperson said that more area could be sealed if it will found infected by the flu, the Poultry trading sites have been shut down.

The H7N9 bird flu virus has killed more than 200 people in China in the first four months of this year, which is almost three times higher than the fatalities reported me 2016.

More than 400,000 birds have been culled in China after the breakout of Bird flu last October and live Poultry markets have been shut down around the country.
