Zaka Ashraf was appointed as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, as of 15 October 2011 by the President of Pakistan and took the charge on 27 October 2011.
However,on Feb 10, 2014 the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif dissolved the PCB governing board and sacked him for the chairmanship of PCB.
A notice from the prime minister, who is also the patron of the PCB, confirmed Ashraf’s removal, although the reasons for Ashraf’s removal are still unknown. However, sources said that Ashraf’s failure to give Pakistan a strong voice at a crucial ICC meeting in Singapore, where a controversial revamp giving major powers and revenues to the ‘big Three’-India, Australia, England- was approved, may be behind his removal.
Najam Sethi named as new PCB chairperson by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is also the patron of Pakistan Cricket.
