CHAMAN – Pakistan have distributed 1.428 tons of rations and Rs 3.4 million cash among affectees of Afghan Border Police firing on Chaman border, reported.

ISPR, the media wing of Pakistan Military confirmed the development as said a tribute paid to Killi Luqman and Killi Jahangeer martyred.

A ceremony was held in Chaman to acknowledge sacrifices by the locals of Killi Janghir and Killi Luqman due to unprovoked firing by Afghan Border Police on 5 May 2017, said ISPR in a recent media note.

Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Aamer Riaz during his visit to Chaman had assured the affected citizens that Pakistan Army will look after them.

Headquarters Frontier Corps has already distributed a relief package of worth Rs 25 million. FC will provide free education to the wards of Chaman shuhada in FC School.

Provincial government has also announced the compensation for the martyred and injured of Chaman incident.

The ceremony was attended by the representatives of civil administration and locals who thanked Pak Army and FC.

Before start of the holy month Ramazan, Pakistan has opened the Friendship Gate (FS Gate) at Chaman border crossing on humanitarian basis which were closed after the unprovoked firing of Afghan Border Police on May 5, 2017.
