OTTAWA – Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has recognized a Pakistani-Canadian woman as one of the top five educators across the country.

Ms. Sabrina Rehman, from Little Scholars Montessori in Ottawa, has received the Prime Minister’s Awards (PMA) for Excellence in Education. The Prime Minister of Canada also attended the ceremony.

The award honors outstanding education skills, exemplary practices and their commitment to education in Canada.

The award winning engineer turned educator is a pioneer in an innovative education system that inspires the students to see and explore even the most abstract concepts.

She has supported many children development initiatives, the Makerspace initiative has student design and engineer creation like recycling the Robot and cares for the environment.

The teacher also helps the guardians of students to design a nature filled outdoor playground with pathways.

Rehman teaches American Sign Language (ASL) from toddler age which enhances the communication skills of the children.

She believed that children are the future and should be treated in an equal manner, she sees the environment as a third teacher for the student.
