ISLAMABAD – Huashang, the first ever Chinese newspaper in Pakistan surprisingly hit around 60,000 readers with its 21st edition published this week.
The weekly newspaper has both Pakistan and Chinese employees and has been working for two years in Pakistan, the head quarter of newspaper located in the capital city of China.
The name of the newspaper means ‘Pure business,’ more than 5,000 copies of the newspaper are publishing per week.
Rama is a chief editor of Huashang, he said the newspaper focused on the business news and transactions between Pakistan and China, although the editorial policy also includes tourism and cultural ties between both countries.
He further stated that the newspaper tries to strengthen the relations of both societies, the newspaper also published in the English language simultaneously.
A senior staffer revealed that merely 400,000 Chinese residing in Pakistan and 25,000 live in Islamabad, the editorial board wants to change the weekly paper to daily.
