ISLAMABAD – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad granted five-day physical remand to the police of proclaimed offender, Syed Muhammad Sibtain Kazmi, in former Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) chief Maulana Azam Tariq’s murder case.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), on Thursday produced Sibtain Kazmi after arresting him from the Islamabad Airport when he was trying to flee to the United Kingdom via Doha on Qatar Airline.
The bench also directed the concerned authorities to conduct medical of the accused.
It is worth mentioning that Sibtain Kazmi was booked in murder case in Police Station Gholra and since then he was declared
proclaimed offender and the government had announced Rs 1,000,000 bounty for his arrest.
Tariq, the then MNA, was gunned down along with three of his guards and a driver in the limits of Islamabad’s Golra police in
2003, while returning from his constituency, Jhang, to attend a National Assembly session. – AGENCIES
