ISLAMABAD – The head of Iranian armed forces threatened Pakistan on Monday that if it does not take action against the Sunni militants who attacked the soldiers and still residing under the state, Iran will take action.
Ten Iranian border guards were killed by militants in April, Iran stressed government to take action against the Sunni militants, who shot guards by long-range guns from inside the territories of Pakistan.
“We cannot accept the continuation of this situation,” Major General Mohammad Baqeri said, as quoted by Tribune.
The Foreign Minister of Iran had met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and asked for action against the militants responsible for the attack, and to upgrade the border security.
When the militant group Jaish al-Adl kidnapped five soldiers in 2014 Iran threatens to send troops to retrieve the soldiers, Pakistan in reply said that it will not permit to do so.
