Load-shedding on its peak since 2013

ISLAMABAD – As government continuously revising the slogan of ‘all is well,’ neutral reports indicated that Pakistanis faced power cut up to seven hours on Sunday as shortfall rises to 5000 and 7000 megawatts during the day.

The officials of Ministry of Water and Power revealed that the demand is more than 20,000MW, however, the capacity of generation is between 15400 to 15700 MW, which resulted in a huge shortfall.

As the temperature in Sindh and Southern Punjab observed up to 47 and 48 degrees Celsius, the consumers had beard worst load shedding which continues even in the night.

The shortfall on Sunday was on the peak in four years, last time same was observed in May 2013 with a shortfall of 4000 and 6000MW.

In the power cut duration of half day, the officials of Electric Supply companies are sure that there is no ‘forced load shedding’ all around the country.
