ISLAMABAD – The Facebook, one of the popular social media networks in Pakistan has blocked a local website siasat.pk and declared it ‘unsafe’.
This is second time that the site being blocked by the regulator or other third party platforms, ealier it was blocked by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The website administration confirmed the incident as tweeted that the Facebook page has been blocked hours ago without any email of notification.

Adeel Habib, CEO of SiasatPK, a popular Pakistani politics discussion forum said that someone asked not to just ban siasat.pk Facebook page but also completely filter siasat.pk url, so no one can use our site on FB.

Another Pakistani website, Propakistani.pk in it’s recent report said, a member of siasat.pk team, confirmed that their Facebook page has been blocked and it is currently not accessible from anywhere in the world.
Moreover, Facebook is also not allowing any Siasat.PK links for sharing on the platform, i.e. if you share any Siasat.PK link on Facebook or want to mention the site, it won’t allow you to share the link on your timeline.
Siasat.PK confirmed that Facebook has not emailed them any notice or reason for the blockade of the website on the platform. In routine whenever there’s a page ban, Facebook notifies the admin with the reason for the ban.
Internet users are already protesting the ban and #WeStandWithSiasatpk is currently in top trends in Pakistan on on twitter.
