ISLAMABAD – The three-member special bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan has finally formed a Joint Investigation Team for the further investigation of Panama case on Friday; Court has taken eight days in the formation of JIT.

Bench named six people in the JIT including one each from National Accountability Bureau (NAB), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Wajid Zia of Federal Agency will lead the team with his four subordinates, a secretariat has been provided for the team in Federal Judicial Academy.

Wajid Zia in past has served as a Director of Economic Crime Wing of agency and also led the Haj scandal probe in 2011 he is an expert in crime and economics.

The bench lead by Ejaz Afzal had rejected the names proposed by the institutions concerned and remarked that the JIT will be formed on merit.
