ISLAMABAD – A 45-year old man died in Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) at Islamabad after being stung multiple times by a swarm of bees.
Ahmed was gardening at the campus university when a swarm of bees attacked him and other five working gardeners.
“A swarm of over a thousand bees attacked Ahmed and other gardeners who were unaware of the location of the hive and barely had time to save themselves,” a university spokesperson said, as quoted by Tribune.
The other gardeners tried to save him but he was slung badly on the whole body by the bees, people called rescue 1122 but Ahmed has died before the arrival of Paramedics staff.
The body and injured were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), injured were identified as Ghulam Fareed, Amir Nawaz, Waqas Hussain, Tanveer Hussain and Sarfraz Hussain.
The AIOU has announced Rs 40,000 for the funeral and other expenses and also announced job for his children.
