DUBAI – The recent ICC Team Ranking for T20 internationals shows a decline in the position of Indian cricket team which is now slipped to fourth place, behind Pakistan.
The World T20 champion of 2007 and 2012 is now on the fourth position with 188 points, behind the World T20 champion of 2009 Pakistan which have 121 points. England moved to the second position in ICC rankings.
Tabel-topper is New Zealand which has 125 points after losing two points. South Africa has slipped to two places and now has the fifth position.
Afghanistan has benefited after England and has got 90 points but Zimbabwe has fallen to the 12th rank.
Nine highest-ranked cricket teams among Australia will qualify directly for the ICC World Twenty20 which will be stationed in Australia.
The remaining eight sides will struggle to qualify for the seventh edition of the tournament, at last, six sides will qualify to complete the 16-team line-up.
