LONDON – Pakistan-origin British boxer Amir Khan and his wife Faryal Makhdoom have on Monday adopted an orphan child.
Amir went to West African Gambia to help the needy on behalf of his foundation and was greatly moved after witnessing the condition of children over there.
The boxer said he wished to take every child with him but started this good work by adopting one child.
Amir’s wife Faryal Makhdoom said, “Our religion teaches us to take care of orphans, and we had planned to adopt a child from the beginning.”
Amir Khan said he wants to make as many hospitals and orphanages as possible to help the people in the poor countries.
