TEHRAN-Interior Minister of Iran on Thursday informed that no live debates shall be on-air for the next month Presidential Elections.
“Based on a decision by the Election Campaign Monitoring Commission, the election debates of the candidates will be broadcast pre-recorded,” interior ministry spokesman Seyed Salman Samani said, as quoted by Samaa News.
Hassan Rouhai has registered for his second term campaign in the elections of May 19.
“I don’t want to interfere… but I would like the election headquarters to review these discussions,” he said, according to state news agency IRNA, as quoted by Samaa News.
The Election Commission of Iran has issued some guidelines for the Candidates who are willing to participate in the Elections.
Although the live debate remained very popular in the Elections of 2009 and 2013, in which many analytics supported Hassan Rouhani.
