PESHAWAR – Mashal Khan, the student of Abdul Wali Khan, who was lynched to death by an angry mob Thursday, was a bright student and a brave man. 

His last words were before death were “No one believes in the Prophet PBUH more than I do,” one of Mashal’s friend revealed on social media.

He further wrote, quoting Mashal “I never committed blasphemy, I’m a sophi (soofi) myself.”

Mashal had talked about the student’s issues and mishappening in university to a local TV channel just two days before his death.

During the interview to a local television channel, Mashal raised voice for illegal activities in varsity and shed light on the problems faced by the university.

Mashal highlighted the issue that many of the university officials have more than one charges which is illegal. He also said that the vice chancellor of the university was absent since March 20, that is why many students were facing difficulties getting degrees.

Mashal also pointed out the extra and unfair fee structure the university had imposed on students, which is more than double of th other varsities.
