MUMBAI – A non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against Bollywood star Mamta Kulkarni in connection to a Rs 2000 crore drug bust probe with its recent development.
Moreover, non-bailable arrest warrants of Vicky Goswami Vijay Giri, an alleged drug lord, were also issued. According to the judgment, investigators have gathered conclusive evidence of an involvement of the former Bollywood actor in a drug smuggling case.
The public prosecutor in the case, Shishir Hiray, said that Mamta Kulkarni and Vijaygiri were the prime suspects in the case, adding that they were involved in manufacturing and dealing of the drugs.
He told the court that other suspects had given their statements alleging both in the drug bust case. They said that the two met had met them in a hotel in the African state Kenya where the actual drug deal took place.
The prosecutor also shed light on another suspect, son of former Congress lawmaker from Gujrat, who named both Mamta Kulkarni and Vicky Goswami as the people behind the major drug smuggling act.
The court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants on Monday and it is expected that the actor will soon be in the custody of Indian authorities.
