LAHORE – The investigators in the spot-fixing scandal of PSL 2017 revealed that batsman Sharjeel Khan played two dot bowls in Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai.
According to Samaa News reports, “Sharjeel has confessed that he played two dot balls that he had sold to bookies,” a source in the PCB said.
All five suspended players – Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irfan, Shahzaib Hasan and Nasir Jamshed – who were charged with contacting bookies in the recently concluded PSL, lied in the inquiry and initially rejected all allegations.
However, the tainted players have now confessed their wrongdoing.
He said Shahzaib was also in contact with bookies, adding that the player is also guilty of inciting other colleagues for fixing.
Hasan was charged on three counts and suspended from participating in all forms of cricket.
The PCB source said that Latif and Irfan’s contacts with bookies have also been confirmed by the investigators.
