LAHORE – Chief Selector Inzimam-ul-Haq has on Wednesday announced squad for the ODI and T20 series against West Indies starting from March 31st.
Former ODI captain and opening batsman, Azhar Ali has been dropped from the squad. Highest run-getter in PSL 2017, Kamran Akmal has been called in in his place.
On the other hand, his younger brother, Umar Akmal, who failed to pass the fitness test, was not considered. Whereas, premier fast bowler Muhammad Amir was not selected for the T2 series against Windies.
Legspinner Yasi Shah also failed to find his place in ODIs and T20s.
Former captain Azhar Ali found no place in Twenty-20 and one-day squads.
Chief selector Inzamam while talking to media said that middle order batsman Umar Akmal was failed in the fitness test. Fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been rested for the Twenty20 series.
Sarfraz Ahmed will lead both the squads with the first Twenty20 in Barbados on March 26. The remaining three matches will be played in Port of Spain on March 30, April 1 and 2.
The one-day matches are scheduled for April 7, 9 and 11 — all in Guyana
