ISLAMABAD – We all in unison have to fight the challenges of poverty, terrorism and extremism in the region, says Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq.
While addressing the inaugural session of the special committee on creation of Asian Parliament and Asian Parliamentary Assembly Standing Committee on political affairs, Ayaz Sadiq welcomed all the (participants) parliamentarians from twenty-five Asian countries.
Speaker National Assembly during the meeting of Asian Parliamentarians informs South Asia countries play a vital role in United Nations (UN) friendly countries.
He argues that numerous challenges are being faced by Asian countries including poverty, terrorism and extremism.
“We will have to move forward together for progress and prosperity and there is a need of ensuring human rights and democracy in Asia,” he argued.
The Speaker said that Pakistan had successfully carried of operations against terrorism and militancy.
Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani said the Asia countries continue to face challenges of imperialism in the form of hegemony of the multilateral institutions.
“The resources of Asia have also been exploited,” Raza Rabbani explains.
He stressed that Asian culture is the oldest and strongest in the world.
Chairman Senate noted that the West has began thinking about itself, but the Asian countries should also look inward and think about themselves.
