LAHORE – The champion team of HBL PSL 2017, Peshawar Zalmi will visit Afghanistan for a short T20 series against Afghanistan cricket team, said Zalmi owner Javed Afridi.
Javed Afridi, while speaking to BBC Urdu, stated that he received a phone call from Vice-Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Hikmat Khaleel Karzai to congratulate him on the phenomenal win in the PSL final.
During the phone call, he invited Peshawar Zalmi team on behalf of Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani, to visit Afghanistan for a short T20 series.
Afridi told BBC Urdu that he accepted the invitation, and in this summer, Zalmi team including Afridi and all the star players, will visit Afghanistan.
Mr Afridi also mentioned that cricket can be used as a mean to bring the two nations close again and “he’ll play his part.”
It is worth mentioning here that Afghan players were included in the first season of PSL, but due to national duty preferences, they were not the part of the second edition.
