KARACHI – A senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Maula Bakhsh Chandio calls for eradicating terrorism from the country through any means but maintaining the norms of justice.
According to detail, Maula Bakhs Chaidio says all the parties in the country are united on the elimination of militancy and extremism.
The PPP leader explains the government can adopt any way to end terrorism in the country but it must be done in the view of justice and fair treatment.
He notes prolonged military courts are not good for the democratic norms in the country.
Earlier the civilian and military leadership has come out with the idea of military court for speedy trial of the hard core terrorists after the horrible attack on the innocent children of Army Public School Peshawar (APC).
But on January 7, 2017 the mandate of military courts came an end automatically under the addition of sunset clause in the amendment but the country was once again shrouded with a new wave of terrorists attacks, giving rise to the extension of military court in order to proceed with the speedy trial of all the terrorists and militants.
However controversy exist among the political parties over the mandate and duration of the military court while earlier extension were given for two years then the former President Asif Ali Zardari conditional the extension with six suggestions.
