ISLAMABAD – Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leaders Farooq Sattar asks Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to give them assurances over the issue of military courts, Pakistantribe.com reported.
According to PaksitanTribe correspondent, though a meeting of all the political parties except Pakistan People Party (PPP) was held in Islamabad on Tuesday (today) and they decided on extension of military court, however Farooq sattar says they will announce their decision only if the Prime Minister assures them.
While addressing a press conference the MQM leader criticized the government, saying “The Federal government is not serious on eradication of terrorism from the country.”
He comments “To what extend the cases of terrorism and militancy have decreased in Pakistan within the last two years?”
He highlights that the Provinces have also been failed in eliminating terrorism while most of the agenda points of the National Action Plan (NAP) has not been implemented yet.
“For how long the political parties in (Pakistan) will try to save and protect the inefficiency of the government,” MQM leader reveals.
Like always he said, the MQM has advocated army and this time all other parties are united on the issue of military courts but the PM should remove our grievances.
He adds “The PM should admit his inefficiency now because your priorities were neither implementation of NAP nor improving the criminal justice system. You did nothing in order to provide justice to the people rather than deceiving.
Army alone is doing everything itself including Zarb-e-azab or Radul Fasad while the federal government is unconcerned and unmoved, Farooq Sattar said.
He emphasizes that the government should adopt a single narrative and prevail that in the society so that the nation could be prepared for the eradicating the evil of terrorism otherwise ‘Rad-ul-Fasad’ operation will not be successful.
In order to bring success to the ongoing operation the government will have to revive the Local government system as well as making funds available to the local representatives, MQM leader informs.
He laments “We are spending the national resources on terrorism but terrorism still reign supreme but the government needs to tell about it to the nation.”
Lastly community policing should be given the top priority so as to reinforce the success of army operations in the country.
