WASHINGTON – Major US media outlets protest White House’s decision to bar them from attending press briefing, pakistantribe.com reported.
According to PakistanTribe’s America desk, United States’ President Palace, White House bars several major US news media organisations from attending an off-camera press briefing held by the White House press secretary on Friday but the move drew a sharp response from some of the media outlets that were excluded.
Local media reportes show that Spicer’s off-camera briefing replaced the usual televised daily news briefing in the White House briefing room.
Donald Trump’s aide did not say why some of major news organisations were excluded from the briefing.
Like many previous decission, this one also goes wrong for Trump administration as it drew strong protests. Reporters at the Associated Press and Time magazine walked out of the briefing when hearing that others had been barred from the session.
“Nothing like this has ever happened at the White House in our long history of covering multiple administrations of different parties,” Dean Baquet, executive editor of The New York Times, said in a statement.

“This is an unacceptable development by the Trump White House,” CNN said in a statement. “Apparently this is how they retaliate when you report facts they don’t like. We’ll keep reporting regardless.”
The White House Correspondents Association, or WHCA, also protested.
“The WHCA board is protesting strongly against how today’s gaggle is being handled by the White House,” said Jeff Mason, president of the association.
BuzzFeed also came with strong reaction and terms the decission ‘antics’.

It is worth mentioning that Trump administration aggresively playing against mainstream US media outlets for not giving them favour.
