SHARJAH – The rain-affected game between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators was called off due to persistent rain in the 9th game of HBL PSL 2017, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.
Quetta Gladiators skipper Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and sent Peshawar Zalmi to bat. Zalmi openers took a fine start, losing just one wicket in the power play for 41 runs.
Hafeez was an early goer for just 16. Sarfraz made a smart move and brought his spinners back as he had the hint of spin. The move turned to be a success as he removed both Morgan and Kamran Akmal within the span of 5 balls.
Tamim (62) and Sohaib (30) played carefully and opened their hands in last overs to take the score to 117/3 from 16 overs.
Overs were cut as the game was put on hold due to unlikely, persistent rain.
Just before the start of Quetta inning, the rain came down again, putting the game on halt. When resumed, the target was reduced to 73 runs of 9 over. And then to 55 off 6 overs. Before the game was finally called off due to heavy rain.
